Last week, I turned 43. 42 was the year that I st Last week, I turned 43. 42 was the year that I started feeling old. It was also one of the best years of my life. I don’t think the two are unrelated. I started getting the nod from other middle aged women while they talked about their hot flashes. I also started getting increasingly insulting ads on social media, telling me I need to buy all sorts of products and procedures to look younger. I disagree. I haven’t had any “work done” (except for my tattoos, piercings, dyed hair, and orthodontia). No shade to anyone who has chosen otherwise, but it’s not for me. We are not built to look like we are in our 20’s forever. That was not my final form, and I am moving ever towards what is. I wouldn’t trade who I am now for a lifetime of looking “young” and “pretty.” I love myself more than I ever did before, and I have a better life than I ever thought possible. I also finished the largest creative project I’ve ever worked on. After 6 years, the MicroCosmic Oracle was manifested into reality. I wrote a fucking BOOK, which I had never done before. I got to connect with amazing communities of artists, witches, and astrologers. I got to see a tiny bit more of the world, grow a garden, make new friends, establish a good work-life balance, and pet a lot of cats. 42 was one of the best years of my life. Thank you to everyone who was a part of making it wonderful. I’m looking forward to trying to top it this year. 1- me all fancy for my oracle deck launch party in July 2- Chichen Itzá with my sweetie for our 11 year anniversary, March 2024 3- Cancún, feeling cute, might delete later, March 2024 4- Lunar Eclipse on March 24th, moments after finishing writing the guidebook for the MicroCosmic Oracle 5- Holding the first printing of my oracle deck 6- really good birthday party, August 2024 7- My 43 year old face, no makeup (except a bit of leftover eyeliner from the day before). Slightly hungover, unmoisturized, and happier than I’ve ever been.
