Below is the Spotify playlist I made from songs that I had on heavy rotation while completing the twelve paintings for the 2020 Calendar. Music has always been an important part of my painting process, and now you can hear the songs that inspired me while I created this art.

Excerpt from inside the calendar-

You hold in your hands a multi-purpose tool for the coming year. It’s obvious function is as a calendar, documenting where you are in time. It is also intended to be a survival guide, visually depicting qualities needed to support yourself and others through difficult times while still having the energy and resources to affect positive change in the world.

2020 is a very important year. As I began planning this calendar, I knew I could not create these paintings without acknowledging the need for this year to be a turning point for my country. For those of us who do not support our current elected officials, it’s time to take action. The only “holiday” I have marked on this calendar is Election Day on November 3rd. I chose “Deconstruction” as the artwork for November as a reminder that it is time for us to discard the structures that do not serve us so that they can be rebuilt anew.

If you live in the United States and are eligible to vote, let this calendar remind you of the need to do so. Please check Vote.org for voter registration deadlines in your state. If you have the resources, consider donating, volunteering, or otherwise getting involved in causes that align with your principles.

We are all responsible for creating a better future for ourselves, our country, and our communities. Be strong, be smart, look out for each other, and I’ll see you on the other side.
