“Take the 101 to the 110…”

This illustration was created after visiting Los Angeles with the University of Hartford Limited Residency MFA Illustration program. I had grown up in Southern California and lived in Los Angeles for several years. Visiting with my school after being away for five years highlighted several qualities: a few tall buildings amidst the sprawl, the heat, and an intricate yet clogged circulatory system of freeways.

2014, Acrylic paint and fabric, 8x10"

First exhibited in October 2015 through Ghost Gallery at Solo Bar, Seattle.
